Analysis of national curricula and construction of the survey questionnaire

One of the goals of the TRIO project is to analyze the teaching methods and the representation of homeland, identity and heritage themes (geography, history and natural sciences) in national curricula and educational practice. For this purpose, during March and April 2026, analyses of subject curricula of all subjects in primary school teaching and the Geography curriculum for students from 5th to 8th grades of primary school were conducted. The analysis also included experimental curricula of the subjects Social Studies [Društvo i zajednica] and Science [Prirodoslovlje].
The results of the curriculum analyses, together with a systematic study of domestic and foreign scientific and professional literature, served as the basis for the development of a survey questionnaire intended for primary school teachers and geography teachers in primary schools. The title of the questionnaire: Spatial concepts, homeland and traditional region in initial geographical education.
